The White Sand Dunes, or Bao Trang (White Lake) is the top attraction at Mui Ne, after the beach itself. The massive, saharan dunes lay 65 km NE of Phan Thiet. The dunes range from gold to pure white (red dunes may be found further south at Mui Ne village). A small stand of pine trees sit on the southern end of the dune lakes, offering a perfect spot for a picnic and afternoon nap.
Red Sand Dunes are fascinating geological phenomenon and an excellent place to get some exercise if you finally tire of the beautiful beaches.
The dunes, once the bane of developers in the area, are constantly shifting; the small patch of desert is actually growing! The large lake situated between the dunes is actually becoming filled in by sand, meaning that the most valuable water source in the area may disappear one day altogether.
About 18 km of North East Phan Thiet, visitors will meet an extremely romantic poetic place that is Suoi Tien (Fairy Stream). Suoi Tien is situated in a nice place, one side of Suoi Tien is white and red sand dunes intermixing together, another side are rows of shading coconut palms, lines of trees with luxuriant leaves.
